Born and raised in Kenya, Peter Mukulu is the principal and founder Hospitality Associates International LLC.

Bringing his extensive experience in the hospitality industry spanning more than 25 years, 3 continents, 4 global hospitality chains and multiple assignments. Peter’s comprehensive background in hotel operations, sales and marketing, hotel development, hotel valuations, Business planning, financial modelling and revenue enhancement programs helps to ensure that all Hospitality Associates International LLC projects are well executed to achieve their full potential.

His in-depth operational experience enables Hospitality Associates International LLC to assist owners on an even stronger level to achieve desired results. Peter’s experience includes senior leadership roles with global chains such as, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels Group and Marriott International LLC. Peter holds a MSc. degree in International Hospitality Management, as well as being a chartered hotel administrator. Peter is green practitioner, travel enthusiast, serial entrepreneur and a publisher.


His global exposure has ensured a multi-cultural awareness essential to developing and mentoring diverse teams. Peter has high proficiency in market analysis, formulation of successful strategies to achieve financial goals, preparation of marketing plans, sales strategy and conducting sales and marketing audits. Strong fluency in the use of social media, with a keen and creative approach to room promotions as well as food and beverage. His affable personality makes him a true brand ambassador for all the assignments where he has had the privilege to serve. It is these skills and leadership abilities that enabled him to receive the Marriott’s President’s Global Sales Leadership Award- 2015 as well as Marriott MEA Above Property Sales Team of the Year, 2015

Peter has a strong financial orientation, having been involved in Capital expenditure planning assignments, budgetary processes, financial forecasting and championing revenue enhancements programs for Intercontinental Hotels in Africa. Has high proficiency in understanding and interpretation of profit & loss statements as well as financial forecasting.

Strong fluency in analyzing financial data and create financial models for decision support. Able to analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. Working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.

    As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hospitality Associates International LLC, I am tasked to provide strategic leadership for the company. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with my Executive team, I am required to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies that are aimed at attaining growth, operational efficiency and the desired social, environmental and economic returns.
  • 2015 – 2017
    As Director of Sales & Marketing at Kigali Marriott, I was tasked with providing day to day leadership with overall responsibility for proactive sales, Reservations, Event Booking Centre, ecommerce, Revenue Management, Marketing, Public Relations and Social Catering. Overall responsibility for achieving property revenue goals, team booking pace goals, guest and associate satisfaction and the financial performance of the hotel.
  • 2012 – 2015
    As Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing for Marriott in Saudi Arabia, my primary responsibility for top line revenue for all fifteen properties within the cluster portfolio. Overall responsibility for all profit centres (including room revenue, F&B, Catering) by developing strategic plans to generate demand and deploying resources accordingly. Responsible for cultivating relationships in primary, secondary and tertiary markets alongside portfolio sales team, visitors’ Tourism’s boards, OTA market managers.
  • 2006 – 2012
    As Founder and MD of Hospitality Associates International I was responsible for the formulation of corporate strategy and establishing standards by which the company would conduct business. Marshalling the organizations limited resources to the most productive uses with the aim of creating maximum value for the company’s stakeholders. Managing and overseeing the required interfaces between the corporation and its stakeholders, the investment community, media and government.
  • 2005 – 2006
    As Resident Manager I was responsible for overseeing the operations of InterContinental Asmara in order to maximize performance, profitability and return. Ensure compliance with InterContinental Hotel groups brand standards. As well as achieving the annual targets on quality assurance, occupancy, REVPAR, GSTS, ESPS and Revenue Growth.
  • 2003 – 2005
    As Director of Sales & Marketing at InterContinental Asmara, I was tasked to provide leadership and support for all sales related activities including sales & marketing plans, training & development, and channel management as well as being accountable for top line revenue with sensitivity to the bottom-line results. I was also tasked with developing strategic plans to generate demand and deploying resources accordingly, in addition to cultivating relationships in primary, secondary and tertiary markets.
